Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Anne W. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature long, blonde hair with a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in some of the top restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. After obtaining an English and Communication diploma in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great experience. The Culinary Institute of America was a great opportunity to pursue a degree. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy the chef gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It had a significant impact on how she views food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world as she frequently is in the United States for the roles of speaker and mentor. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to share this passion for food with other people.
